Medium: Textured Acrylic on Canvas

In this tactile, high-relief work, the Martian horizon is rendered in a thick, sculpted impasto of burning ochre and copper. The heavy texture mimics the wind-swept dunes and ancient, jagged peaks of the Red Planet, catching the light on every gilded ridge.

Above, the atmosphere transitions into a dreamlike lavender and soft violet haze, suggesting a thin, alien sky. Suspended within this ethereal glow is 3I/Atlas, depicted as a luminous, pale orb that seems to vibrate against the cool tones of the heavens. The use of gold leaf or metallic pigments throughout the piece creates a "living" surface that shifts as the viewer moves, echoing the fleeting, shimmering nature of a comet’s transit. It is a piece that balances the grounded, gritty reality of a planet with the fluid, celestial mystery of deep space.

  • Craftsmanship & Materiality

This original work is created using layered acrylic and hand-applied spackling, forming a richly textured surface with subtle dimensional depth.

Each layer is built intentionally, allowing natural light to interact with the raised detailing throughout the day. The result is a quietly dynamic piece — refined, tactile, and entirely unique.

Painted on premium cotton canvas and stretched by hand, this format offers balanced symmetry while commanding presence within a space.

This is a one-of-a-kind original. No reproductions.

    Care

To preserve the integrity of the surface:

    • Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth

    • Avoid moisture and cleaning products

    • Display away from prolonged direct sunlight

    • Suitable for interior environments only

With considered care, this piece will retain its structural integrity and tonal depth for years to come.

    Collector’s Note

The sculptural surface — built through successive layers of acrylic and spackling — creates a refined interplay between light and shadow, giving the piece a living quality that evolves across the day.

Its scale offers architectural presence while maintaining compositional restraint.
